Applications cover resource sharing as well as Fall-Back operations.
Switching can be set off automatically from a V24 link-up or 10Base-T ethernet Port, via command sequences initiated by an operator or by a computer or manually via the front panel toggle switches.
The AB bus switching system AFS-16-1 accomodates one V.24 command port and one Ethernet 10/100Base-TX command port.
The Ethernet connectivity available via the Ethernet command port uses the TCP/IP protocols for network communications.
The configuration can be made via :
- a standard Web browser,
- a Telnet connection or
- SNMP.
These switching cards are totally transparent to signal characteristics applied to the bus circuits. This allows the AFS-16-1 to switch assorted interfaces such as :
- V24, Current Loop, V11, RS485, etc...
- V36, X21, V35, G703 E1/T1, etc...
- and 10/100/1000BaseTX Ethernet, ofcourse.
Each card has front panel LED indicators A and B for monitoring the switching status.
